Police Find Camera, Card Skimmer in Nanuet ATM

If you've used the ATM at the 7-11 recently, you'll want to talk to your bank.

The Clarkstown Police Department was called to the 7-11 on Rt. 59 in Nanuet Jan. 14 for a suspicious situation involving an ATM machine inside the store.

The responding officer was told by the victim, a Nanuet resident, that when he attempted to make a transaction at the Citibank ATM machine inside the 7-11, he had observed that the card reader felt tighter than normal. Investigating, the officer saw that a camera appeared to be mounted atop the keypad of the machine.

The Clarkstown Detective Bureau responded to the scene and removed a camera—and a card skimmer.
