Police Find Camera, Card Skimmer in Nanuet ATM

The Clarkstown Police Department was called to the 7-11 on Rt. 59 in Nanuet Jan. 14 for a suspicious situation involving an ATM machine inside the store.

The responding officer was told by the victim, a Nanuet resident, that when he attempted to make a transaction at the Citibank ATM machine inside the 7-11, he had observed that the card reader felt tighter than normal. Investigating, the officer saw that a camera appeared to be mounted atop the keypad of the machine.

The Clarkstown Detective Bureau responded to the scene and removed a camera—and a card skimmer.

This is an active investigation and we request that if you have used this machine recently that you contact your bank or financial institution to ensure your account was not compromised.
