Police: Man Beat Co-Workers with Shovel and Chair

Ramsey, NJ, police say Spring Valley man also 'menaced' his co-workers with a box cutter during an altercation.

A Spring Valley man was arrested in Ramsey, NJ, Friday on charges of beating up two of his co-workers at a borough business with a metal chair, a shovel, and a box cutter, police said.

Vladmir Alexis, 23, of Spring Valley, was charged with aggravated assault after he and a co-worker got into an argument at the North American Parts Distributors HQ at 200 Williams Drive in Ramsey at about 2:13 a.m. last Friday morning, Ramsey Police Chief Bryan Gurney said.

Alexis is accused of getting into a fight with the coworker during a break, Gurney said. Police declined to release information on what caused the verbal fight, but said that it escalated into a physical altercation when Alexis hit the other man with a metal chair.
