Police: Man Bites off Part of Opponent's Ear During Fight in New City
The fight happened last night and the alleged biter was arrested early this morning.

The Clarkstown Police Department arrested a Spring Valley man who fought with a West Haverstraw resident and bit off a piece of his ear.
At 11:30 p.m. April 2 the Clarkstown Police Department responded to a call of an assault on Dolphin Road in New City.
The officers arrived to find a man with his right ear partially bitten off. The victim, 33, who was transported to Nyack Hospital, told police he had had a fight with another man, whom he knew. He told police his opponent fled the scene in a red Nissan.

Clarkstown Police said they were able to apprehend the alleged biter at his home in Spring Valley.
Eddy Bethancourth, 34, was charged with Assault 1st (felony). He was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court, where bail was set at $25,000. He was then taken to the Rockland County Jail.

Bethancourth will return to court on April 6.
