Police: No Danger From Suspicious Package At Liquor Store In Nanuet
Store owner was concerned about package left at rear door.
Police just finished an investigation of a suspicious package left at the rear door of a Nanuet Liquor store.
The discovery of the package at , 61 Rockland Center, led to the evacuation of that area of the shopping center off Route 59 as and the checked the store. The owner contact police around 10 a.m. Monday morning after discovering it.

"(The owner discovered) a package wrapped in aluminum foil taped to the back door. The owner has been victimized several times in recent months," said Clarkstown Sgt. Glenn Cummings. "We secured and evacuated neighboring stores."
Police said the county's bomb squad used imaging and x-ray equipment to inspect the package and determine it was not dangerous. Photos were taken for the bomb squad "so they could know what they would be dealing with."

By about 11:30 a.m., workers and customers were allowed back into the area.
