Police: Shoplifters Had Stuffed Items into Plastic Bags
They struggled with a Macy's employee who tried to stop them.
Clarkstown Police Department responded to a report of shoplifting at Macy’s in the Palisades Mall July 30.
Loss prevention employees from Macy’s told police they observed four people place about 40 pieces of clothing in numerous plastic bags and exit the store without paying for the merchandise, which was valued at $1,840.
An employee had tried to stop one of them and a struggle ensued as another suspect came to the aid of the first.

Police said the employee, a 23-year-old West Nyack man, was not injured.
The four suspects fled—but their vehicle was stopped by responding police units a short distance from the mall.

Nicholas Menegan, 19, of Middletown, Yesenia Ocasio, 24, of Middletown, Yvette Lopez, 45, of Walden and Stephanie Grayson, 38, of Oklahoma City, OK, were arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing.
All four were charged with grand larceny 4th (felony) and criminal possession of stolen property 4th (felony). Both Menegan and Lopez were additionally charged with robbery (felony), resulting from the physical struggle with the employee.
All four were arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court. Bail was set at $10,000 for Menegan, $5000 for Grayson and Ocasio. Lopez was held without bail due to a prior conviction. All four suspects were taken to the Rockland County Jail. They have a return court date of Aug. 4.
