Rockland Man Struck, Killed By Train

The incident occurred about a quarter mile south of Bradley Hill Road.

ORANGETOWN, NY — A Blauvelt man was struck and killed by a freight train Tuesday in Rockland County. Around 7:45 p.m., the Orangetown police received a call about someone being hit on the CSX train line approximately a quarter mile south of Bradley Hill Road in Blauvelt.

Officers found the man who had been struck by the train, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by Rockland Paramedics.

The man was identified as Enda Caulfield, 36, of Blauvelt.

The investigation into his death is ongoing, and anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Orangetown detectives at 845-359-2121.

Blauvelt Fire Department, Rockland County Sheriff BCI, Rockland County Medical Examiner, CSX police, South Orangetown Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedics all assisted in this investigation.
