The second Annual Recognition Ceremony celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week was held Thursday.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office held its second Annual Recognition Ceremony celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week on Thursday. At the ceremony Sheriff Louis Falco expressed his appreciation and shared with the public the excellent work the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office Communications Division, as well as the town and village police departments, are doing on a daily basis.
"Radio operators and dispatchers represent the first contact for people seeking help and are the unsung heroes behind all emergency calls for service," Falco said before the event. “It is essential that we recognize the dedication, commitment and professionalism of these public safety communicators and their role in helping to keep our communities safe.”

The ceremony was held at the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Communications Division 911 Dispatch Center located at 35 Firemen’s Memorial Drive in Pomona.
