Rockland Volunteer Firefighters Convention, Parade Coming Up

Not a firefighter? Well, don't miss the parade or the fireworks.

The Hugh Gassner Fire Company in Spring Valley will host the 105th Rockland County Volunteer Firefighters Association Annual Convention and Parade in early September. The Company is hosting this year’s Convention and Parade to honor deceased members who helped create its fine traditions.

The Convention will be held Sept. 8 at the Chestnut Ridge Middle School. The Convention starts at 7:30 PM. The Convention will conduct the RCVFA’s annual business, which will include awards to their membership and officer elections.

The Annual Competition Dress parade will be held on Sept. 9, 2017. The parade will kick off at 2 p.m.

LINE UP: On the side streets off Scotland Road in Chestnut Ridge.

ROUTE: The parade will go south on Rte. 45, turn on Red Schoolhouse Road, and finish past the firehouse. The Reviewing Stand will be at the Firehouse. Following the Parade, the Competition trophies will be awarded at the Firehouse. A celebration will follow, ending with a fireworks display.
