UPDATE: West Point Lockdown Lifted

The academy was briefly shut down while a suspicious vehicle was searched for.

WEST POINT, NY — The lockdown at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point was lifted after a suspicious vehicle was located.

Sources told News 12 that someone said they had spotted a person who looked similar to the Chelsea bombing suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami, but it wasn’t him.

News 12 reported that the institution took the action after a suspicious vehicle went through a security gate.

The lockdown comes after explosive devices were detonated in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan and Seaside Park, New Jersey, over the weekend.

The FBI released a name and photograph Monday of a suspect in the Chelsea bombing that injured 29, Ahmad Khan Rahami.
