Shoplifting Charge Involved Charm Bracelets and a Jewelry Box
The incident happened Black Friday at Kohl's on Route 59.

A report of shoplifting at 7:25 p.m. Nov. 28 sent Clarkstown police to the Kohl’s at 220 Rt.59 in Nanuet.
According to police, a loss prevention employee had seen obseved a woman take several charm bracelets. She was with a man who was observed taking a jewelry box. Neither paid for the items, which were valued at $1,228.67.
As they left the store, the employee tried to stop them. A struggle ensued—then both suspects fled. The woman was caught by the police units responding to the call. The man was not.

The employee, a 27-year-old Nanuet man, was not injured.
The man was described as a heavy set male hispanic wearing a bubble vest with a NY Yankee ball cap.

The woman was identified as Veronica Lantigua, 38, of Tarrytown. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing.
She was charged with robbery 2nd (felony), grand larceny 4th (felony), criminal possession of stolen property 4th (felony) and harassment 2nd (violation).
Lantigua was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court. Bail was set at $1,000. She has a return court date of Dec. 29.
