Simon Reps to Speak at Nanuet Civic Association

Clarkstown Planning held a to discuss the progress of the Nanuet Mall's transformation into The Shops at Nanuet with the owner, Simon Property Inc.

At the last November Nanuet Civic Association meeting, Clarkstown Supervisor Alex Gromack said that the Nanuet Civic meeting would be the first stop for Simon Property Inc when they begin reaching out to the public for feedback and suggestions on the Nanuet Mall redevelopment.

Civic Association Board Vice President Roberta Bangs said that Simon representatives will be the guest speaker at the Civic Association in the early winter months of 2012. The date is TBA.

To put your two cents in about The Shops at Nanuet, join the Nanuet Civic Association. Annual dues are as follows:

  • $25 for families
  • $15 for indivduals
  • $5 for seniors
  • $25 for businesses

You do not have to be a Nanuet resident to join. They meet once a month, usually the first Thursday of the month, in the upstairs community room at the .

Tonight's meeting is at 7:15 p.m. and at each meeting, officlals from Clarkstown Town Council, Police, Highway and Nanuet Fire Department give an update as to what's going on in town. They take questions and there's also a guest speaker at each meeting. Meetings usually run from 7:15 - 9 p.m. at the latest since that's when the library closes.

The guest speaker tonight is Stacey Cullianos of Greater Hudson Valley Appraisals, who will speak about the process of figuring out the market value of a home and answer questions about appraisals.

Past guest speakers include David Carlucci, election candidates and representatives from local organizations.

Donations of canned or boxed food for People to People will be accepted at tonight's meeting and cash is always appropriate. Coffee and cookies will be served tonight and home baked goods are appreciated.

Members are encouraged to bring a friend or neighbor.
