NANUET, NY — At 10:55 a.m. Friday, the Clarkstown Police Department was called to the vicinity of 300 W. Route 59 after a construction worker found possible human skeletal remains.

The location where the remains were found is a small wood next to the New York State Thruway. In recent years this area had been commonly used as a homeless encampment, police said.
