NANUET, NY — There's much needed rain across the work week in the Hudson Valley. There will be a dry day or so in the middle. Meanwhile, the summer-like temps will continue into mid-week, and then we'll see a 10-degree drop.
Because the rain will be spread out over time, it should be more beneficial than troublesome. Of course, rain in fall does have a side effect: Wet leaves also produce slippery conditions for motorists and pedestrians, so be careful, AccuWeather meteorologists warn.
The rain in the first part of the week is the last gasp of Hurricane Nate, which downgraded rapidly when it hit land this past weekend.

"At the moment, it looks like the heaviest rain will remain off to our west, but we could still see locally over 1 inch of rain," said Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather.
The rain in the second part of the week will be part of a new storm system.
