State Rejects Bid For Liquor License At Bar That Was Scene Of January Shooting
Clarkstown police say victim, witnesses providing little cooperation in shooting investigation.

The in Nanuet, the scene of a Jan. 21 dispute that led to a shooting, has been denied a liquor license and can no longer serve alcohol, according to Clarkstown police.
Police said that the shooting and reports of other fights at the New Latin Grill led to a visit to the business on Saturday by Clarkstown police and representatives of the State Liquor Authority to interview owners Hector Flores and Luis Fernando Camargo. Police said Flores and Camargo were advised that the liquor authority has rejected its application for a license.
The New Latin Grill, according to police, was serving alcohol under a temporary license. The business is located at 365 Route 59, alongside the Days Inn hotel.

In the wake of the latest violent incident, police said their investigation into the shooting of a New City resident has been frustrated by very little cooperation from the victim and witnesses. Police said a dispute broke out at a party of more than 120 people at the New Latin Grill on Jan. 21, which led to the early-morning shooting outside the bar.
The 23-year-old victim was shot in the chest.
