Statement by Holocaust Museum on Orlando Massacre

Officials at the Holocaust Museum & Center for Tolerance and Education call on the world to do better teaching the lessons of tolerance.

The Holocaust Museum & Center for Tolerance and Education is heartbroken and horrified by the hateful act that occurred in Orlando this weekend.
We are devastated and appalled by what is being described as the worst act of mass shooting in American history.

We mourn the loss of innocent victims and pray for a speedy recovery for the 53 who were injured.

This is a time for the world to reflect on how we MUST do better to teach the lessons of tolerance so that no individual is EVER targeted due to his race, religion, creed or sexual orientation.

Our hearts and souls bear the scars of hate and terrorism and we vow to stand tall and continue to educate against injustice and intolerance in our community and worldwide.

No act of hate or violence should be tolerated in today's world.
