Stony Point Men Arrested After Palisades Crash
The driver said he lost control in the rain Tuesday night.
Two Stony Point men face drug charges after a crash on the Palisades Parkway Tuesday night. At 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, New York state police from Haverstraw responded to a single vehicle crash with entrapment near exit 11 in Ramapo.
Troopers found a man covered in mud sitting in the grass next to the vehicle. He was later identified as Michael Keyser, 36. Keyser told police that he lost control of the vehicle because of the rain and wet highway.
Another man inside the car had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to Nyack Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was later identified as Joseph Burkert, 50.

Troopers who interviewed Keyser concluded that he was impaired by alcohol. He was then transported to Nyack Hospital to be evaluated by medical personal.
After being evaluated he was transported to the state police barracks in Haverstraw where he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

The troopers allege they found cocaine when they investigated the car further.
Keyser was also charged with Driving While Impaired by Drugs (DWAI-Drugs) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree (felony).
Joseph Burkert was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree.
