RSVP For Re-Build Hi Tor Fundraiser on Wed.

Earlier this month, Don Franchino, a Nanuet resident who runs the All State office in New City, that he will be spearheading the fundraising effort for Hi Tor Animal Care Center. As Rockland County’s only animal shelter, Hi-Tor is at risk of shutting down due to insufficient funds and the poor conditions of its facility. 

Franchino's plan is to and the first step is . The first fundraiser is Wednesday, July 25 at the Art & Cultural Center of Blue Hill Plaza in Pearl River.

RSVP for the Animal Life: Special Reception from 5:30 - 8 p.m. tomorrow. This art exhibit showcases 21 artists and discover animals in 142 images from around the world. 

The gallery demonstrates how Art can help a Corporation to connect and communicate in its immediate environment, according to Carolyn deLisser, event organizer. "In the Fine Art exhibition ANIMAL LIFE, the mutual concerns of business and individuals struggling to survive in difficult times merge, as we walk through corridors and lobbies of Blue Hill Plaza surrounded by images of animals small and large from around the world. We are reminded again and again of the beauty and fragility of life itself. We can see the treasure of a contingent moment of victory, tenderness, humor, defeat, trauma and creative ingenuity in an animal who may represent an endangered specious." 

The Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture in Animal Life will focus on the immediate environment. Many of the images, however, are intimate moments with exotic animals photographed during global travel.

"The fact that the Hi-Tor Animal Care Center is helping to host this reception may well indicate that our caring for animal life is providing a clue as to how to survive in difficult times," said deLisser. All the works are for sale.

Also at this reception, Hi-Tor will contribute photographs and plans for rebuilding their new Animal Center in Rockland County in 2013
