Tree Limb Falls, Kills Nanuet Man

On September 10, 2015 at approximately 1:15 PM the Clarkstown Police Department responded to Addison Boyce Dr. in New City for a report of a man struck by a fallen tree limb.

Responding patrol units found an unresponsive male in the driveway. Paramedics and Nanuet Volunteer Ambulance attempted to save the male but his injuries were fatal.

Unique Occena, 51, of Nanuet was pronounced deceased by Paramedics at the scene.

The initial investigation reveals that Mr. Occena was hired to cut down a tree. It appeared that a large limb from the tree fell on Mr. Occena, fatally injuring him.

The Clarkstown Detective Bureau and the Rockland County Medical Examiner’s Office will continue the investigation.
