Woman Hit By Train, Pascack Valley Line Delays

Long delays on the Pascack Valley Line in both directions, NJ Transit officials said.

Pascack Valley Line service is subject to up to 60 minutes delays following an earlier trespasser strike at New Bridge Landing, NJ Transit officials said at 9:22 a.m.

Service was resumed after being suspended in both directions right after the incident. NJTransit bus and private carriers were cross-honoring rail tickets and passes.

A woman was struck by Train 1612 at the New Bridge Landing station in River Edge at about 7:55 a.m., NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith said.

The woman was taken to Hackensack Medical Center with non-life-threatening head and shoulder injuries, Smith said. None of the 750 customers or crew on the train reported any injuries, he said.

The train left Spring Valley, New York and was due to arrive at Hoboken at 8:20 a.m.
