Truck Hits Tree in Front of Nanuet Library
No major injuries. The driver was transferred to Nyack Hospital
A little after 9 a.m. Friday morning, a truck driver went off the Church Street, jumped a small curb and hit a tree in front of the .
The Nanuet Ambulance Corps "got the call at 9:12 a.m."

"It was a light, gray pick-up truck. It must have come from that direction," said Teen Services Coordinator Suzanne Congdon, pointing down Church Street toward Nanuet High School. "It was this morning and it was slick because it started to snow at one point. It was quite cold. He went right on over (the curb), kept going down that hill and was stopped by that tree."
"It was just one person, minor injuries," said the Nanuet Ambulance Member that responded. "He went to (Nyack) Hospital."

"When I arrived, there were two cop cars and an ambulance. A flatbed had just arrived to get the car out," said Congdon, adding that the library entrance was blocked briefly when the flatbed was maneuvering into position.
"That's happened so many times here," said another librarian. "Say someone's coming from where the schools are and there's that sharp curve. Instead of making that last part of that curve, they go straight into those woods.
