Weekend Weather: Fabulous Start, Wet Finale

There’s a cold front poised to mark an end to the midsummerlike warmth, said Alex Sosnowski, AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist.

“A storm system will approach the Hudson Valley over the weekend,” says Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather, “… and bring the potential for a substantial rain event by Sunday into Monday.”

Here’s the detailed forecast for the National Weather Service for Rockland County:

• Tonight-Mostly clear in the evening...then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the lower 60s. South winds around 5 mph.
• Saturday-Partly sunny. A chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.
• Saturday Night-Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid 60s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
• Sunday-Showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms. Highs in the lower 70s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph...becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of rain 70 percent.
• Sunday Night-Showers likely. Lows in the mid 50s. Chance of rain 70 percent.
• Monday-Cloudy. Showers likely...mainly in the morning. Highs in the mid 60s. Chance of rain 60 percent.
