Wintry Mix, Then Rain: Nanuet's Work Week Weather

NANUET, NY — Now that we got that pesky April snow out of the way, how about some … wintry mix, then rain? I know it seems as if we just can’t shake the winter-type weather even if it is spring. But this week we are going to flirt with a high of 60 degrees briefly, but it will likely be raining.

Southern Westchester will probably be spared the wintry mix, but will not avoid precipitation.

The wintry mix or just plain rain will continue through Wednesday, but once that’s over, we will be closing out the work week with early spring temps and partly cloudy skies.

Here is the forecast from the National Weather Service for Rockland County:

• Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
• Tuesday: Rain, snow, and sleet, becoming all rain after 1pm. Steady temperature around 37. Light southeast wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
• Tuesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 43 by 3am. East wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight.
• Wednesday: Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11am. High near 61. South wind 6 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• Wednesday Night: Showers likely before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 33. Breezy, with a northwest wind 18 to 23 mph decreasing to 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45.
• Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35.
• Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 50.
• Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33.
