A New City man is due in Clarkstown town court May 7 to answer charges of public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors.
Allegedly the 54-year-old was masturbating and uttering obscene language while sitting in his car at 3 p.m. April 6 in the parking lot of Toys R Us in Nanuet.
His behavior drew the attention of a patron of the store who was in the company of her 2-year-old daughter. She reported it to the Police Department. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest, police said.
He was arraigned at Clarkstown Justice Court and released on $1,000.00 bail.
