Woman Pushing Car On Route 59 In Nanuet Charged With Felony DWI

A Chestnut Ridge woman who has previously been convicted of drunken driving has been charged with felony DWI after she was found pushing her car on Route 59 at 4 a.m. Thursday, according to .
Dawn Scios, 45, was ordered held in the Rockland County Correctional Facility in New City pending a Clarkstown Town Court hearing.
Police said town officers were conducting an investigation in the Nanuet area after a report of a woman tresspassing and harassing individuals at the and adjoining apartments upstairs on Main Street in Nanuet. Police said an officer spotted Scios as she was pushing a 2005 Pontiac westbound on Route 59 — she told police she ran out of gas and was attempting to reach a gas station.

Scios, according to police, appeared intoxicated and then failed a field sobriety test. Scios was taken to Clarkstown police headquarters in New City, where police said she failed a chemical breath test for alcohol.
Scios was charged with driving while intoxicated as a felony because of an April 2008 conviction on a DWI charge, police said.
