• New Lebanon faces 15% tax hike, deep cuts to programs (dailygazette.com) — New Lebanon officials are weighing a 15% property tax increase for 2027 alongside deep cuts to youth, senior, and community programs as they try to rebuild the town's shrinking reserves. Residents packed a recent meeting to argue over reduced hours for town employees, scaled-back fire department funding, and whether to restore money for summer camp and Lebanon Valley Seniors before the board revises the tentative budget.
• Cambridge/Salem boys' soccer clinches share of title — Wednesday's Section 2 scores (dailygazette.com) — Local soccer fans will note that the Berlin/New Lebanon boys' team fell 4-0 to Mechanicville in Wasaren League play, despite a strong first-half performance from Mechanicville's Graham Murphy. The roundup also highlights Cambridge/Salem clinching at least a share of the league title and several other Section 2 boys' soccer results that shape the regional standings.
