2 Arrested After Stabbing Off-Duty NYPD Detective

The two suspects were apprehended in another state, police said.

NEW YORK CITY — Two men, accused of stabbing an off-duty NYPD detective in the Bronx last week, were arrested in Massachusetts, police said on Wednesday.

D'Angelo Caraballo, 25, and Sneider Mejia, 24, were taken into custody in Lynn, MA by U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force.

The two men allegedly attacked and robbed a 33-year-old detective near Rochambeau Avenue and East 208th Street last Friday around 2 p.m.

According to police, the two suspects rode up on a moped and stabbed the detective as he walked to his parked car.

The injured officer was taken to Jacobi Hospital for treatment and was released on Monday.
