2 NYC Students Are Vying To Win National Spelling Bee In Washington D.C.
Both students won one day of a two-day citywide competition back in March.
NEW YORK CITY — Two New York City students will be competing in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. that kicks off on Tuesday.
Jay Nayak, 11, from Manhattan and Liam Kwon, 10, from Queens will be the two representatives from New York City.

Kwon is a fifth grader at P.S. 32 and Nayak is a sixth grader at Hunter College Elementary School.

Nayak and Kwon will be joining around 250 others students who won their regional spelling bees.
The Scripps National Spelling Bee includes both vocabulary and spelling rounds which run through Thursday. .
The winner of the spelling bee will receive a $50,000 grand prize.
Preliminary rounds began on Tuesday with the quarterfinals and semifinals set for Wednesday. You can stream the spelling bee on Scripps Sports Network and spellingbee.com.
The finals will be broadcasted from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday.
