2022 NYC Pride Parade Makes Triumphant Comeback: Photos
Thousands of people filled New York City's streets Sunday to celebrate freedom just days after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

MANHATTAN, NY — The annual NYC Pride March was officially back on and in full swing Sunday after being scaled down last year due to the pandemic. Thousands filled the streets of New York City to celebrate gay rights as rainbow flags, confetti and parade floats fluttered around.
While spirits around the parade were joyous, the purpose of Sunday's march held more urgency than before as a newfound fear lingers from the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade just days prior. It was only in 2015 that the court recognized same-sex marriage, and many fear that right will quickly be stripped away following the court's latest ruling.
The large turnout of this year's NYC parade was similar for marches across the country. See photos of all the best moments from the 2022 NYC Pride Parade in New York below.
