39 More Schools Struck By Coronavirus Cases, Officials Say
The confirmed cases from the four days before Tuesday's reopening resulted in the temporary closure of a Sheepshead Bay school.
NEW YORK CITY — The four-day run up to Tuesday's return of elementary and middle students to classrooms saw confirmed coronavirus cases detected at 39 New York City schools.
Department of Education officials late that day released a list of schools with positive COVID-19 cases between Friday and Monday.
All but one of the schools — P.S. K811 Connie Lekas School in Sheepshead Bay — had a single case. Connie Lekas had two cases, prompting a temporary closure and investigation into contacts.
