NYC Liquor Licenses Stripped For Coronavirus Violations
Bars in Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens received immediate suspensions after inspectors said they found lax face coverings and crowds.

NEW YORK CITY — Six more New York City bars lost liquor licenses after a drinking dragnet found they violated coronavirus regulations.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office on Friday announced the immediate suspensions for establishments in Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens.
Untouchables from the State Liquor Authority documented 84 violations across the state in recent days, according to a release.

But it's boozy scenes in New York City area that caught Cuomo's ire. He affirmed the "right to party" but made clear pandemic concerns will lead to continued crackdowns.
"We have to protect the progress we have made," he said this week.

The crackdowns first centered in Queens — where outdoor party scenes gained viral infamy — and the Lower East Side.
The suspensions announced Friday included Aqua in the Bronx, where 12 patrons were caught swilling alcohol indoors, according to a a release. Other accused violators included Guaro's Tapas Bar Lounge in Jackson Heights, where investigators claimed to find more than 25 patrons in a "nightclub-like atmosphere."
Cipriani Downtown and Set L.E.S. in Manhattan and Kandela and La Pollera Colorada II also received immediate suspensions, according to a release.
