The school closures come after ongoing financial challenges and enrollment declines.

NEW YORK CITY — Seven Catholic schools in New York City will be closing at the end of the 2025-2026 school year, officials said.

The Diocese of Brooklyn disclosed that the schools will close in June due to financial challenges and enrollment declines over the last several years.

"The decision to close them was made only after careful consideration and with great sorrow," Diocese Superintendent of Schools Deacon Kevin McCormack said in a statement.
