7 More People Died Indoors During NYC Cold Snap, City Hall Says
The cold snap from Jan. 23 until Feb. 10 brought freezing temperatures to the New York City area.

NEW YORK CITY — The death toll from last month's cold snap in New York City has risen to 29 after the Mamdani administration confirmed that seven more people died of hypothermia at private residences.
According to City Hall, in total 14 individuals were found dead inside private residences, while 15 people died outside from hypothermia.
No additional information has been released into the death count.

The New York Post first reported on the rise of indoor deaths.
Four other deaths reported during the cold snap were determined to have been from fatal overdoses and a heart attack, according to the city's medical examiner.

No outdoor deaths have been reported from the latest blizzard from Feb. 22-23 which dumped two feet of snow.
“Each of these lives lost is a tragedy,” Mayor Zohran Mamdani said last month. “My heart is with the families of those mourning their loved ones.”
