70-Year-Old Man Beaten, Robbed On Upper West Side, Police Say
The 70-year-old victim had stopped to help two men on the sidewalk before they jumped him.
UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is searching for two men who attacked and robbed a 70-year-old man on the Upper West Side, police said.
The elderly victim was walking just after midnight Saturday on West 103 Street and Broadway when he stopped to have a conversation with two unknown men on the sidewalk, police said. While the victim was talking to the men, they suddenly attacked him, police said.
The men punched and kicked the victim on the street and robbed him of a cellphone, $200 cash and food, police said. The 70-year-old suffered a fractured nose and multiple lacerations on his face, police said. The victim had to be taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released, police said.

Police released photos of the two suspects Monday. One of the suspects stands about 5-foot-7 and was wearing a gray hoodie, a black jacket and light-colored sweatpants during the robbery. Police did not have much information about the other suspect other than that he was wearing a black jacket, a knapsack, red sneakers, a black hoodie and black jeans during the robbery.
