9/11 Memorial's 'Tribute In Light' Canceled Amid Coronavirus
Twin beams of light won't shine at the former World Trade Center site on Sept. 11 this year, but buildings across the city will be lit up.

NEW YORK CITY — The iconic twin beams of light commemorating the fallen World Trace Center towers won't shine this year for the Sept. 11 attack's 19th anniversary.
9/11 Memorial & Museum officials nixed the annual "Tribute in Light" because of coronavirus concerns, according to a statement on the museum's website.
"This incredibly difficult decision was reached in consultation with our partners after concluding the health risks during the pandemic were far too great for the large crew required to produce the annual Tribute in Light," the statement read.
