Allergy Forecast: Pollen Levels Expected To Jump Soon In NYC
The Weather Channel is predicting that allergy symptoms will jump in NYC this week and last through the first days of April.

NEW YORK, NY — Spring misery is almost upon us for the hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers for which the blossoming plants mean puffy eyes, scratchy throats and non-stop sneezes.
While allergy season is not fully here yet, people with allergies are expected to see an elevated level of symptoms over the next week, according to Weather.com.
The online weather site that also provides a 15-day allergy forecast predicts the risk of allergy symptoms for people in New York City will jump near the "very high" mark until April. 2.

At which point, the risk will fall back down to moderate.
According to the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, the most common symptoms of allergies are sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, watery eyes, itchy throat and eyes, and wheezing. It's a list that people with allergies know all too well.

- Stay inside in the morning
"Pollen counts are highest in the early morning, between 5 and 10 a.m.," Robert Sporter, a doctor at ENT & Allergy Associates in New York City, told AccuWeather.
- Keep indoor air clean
Keep windows closed, filter the air by using air conditioning.
- Avoid certain foods
Some people with severe pollen allergies may have trouble eating raw and fresh fruit.
- Carry an allergy relief kit
Over-the-counter products such as antihistamines and eye drops can also help.
