Dunn Calls on Lasher to Resign

NY-12 Candidate Laura Dunn Urges Micah Lasher to Step Down Over Reported ICE-Linked Financial Ties

New York, NY (April 15, 2026) — Today, civil rights attorney and NY-12 congressional candidate Laura Dunn is calling on fellow candidate Micah Lasher to resign from the race following reports of financial ties between his household and companies connected to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“As the most progressive candidate in this race, I am shocked by the level of political hypocrisy and conflicts of interest coming to light,” said Dunn. “At a time when New Yorkers are demanding accountability, it’s unacceptable for a candidate to campaign against ICE while their household has benefited from companies tied to ICE contracts.”

Dunn pointed to reported financial connections involving Lasher’s wife through roles at Motorola Solutions and Verisk Analytics—companies that have received significant revenue connected to ICE operations, including surveillance, communications, and data services.

“We’re talking about millions of dollars tied to companies that support systems many New Yorkers believe are harming immigrant communities,” Dunn said. “You cannot campaign on abolishing ICE while your household is financially connected to entities that help power its operations.”

Dunn also raised broader concerns about the influence of corporate and government contracting ties in the race, noting additional scrutiny around candidate Alex Bores and his past work with Palantir Technologies during the first Trump administration.

“This is exactly the kind of hypocrisy the American people are fed up with—politicians who condemn a system in public while benefiting from it in private,” Dunn continued. “Between these connections, voters in NY-12 are seeing a pattern of candidates intertwined with the very systems they claim to oppose.”

Dunn emphasized that the issue goes beyond politics and speaks directly to public trust.

“This isn’t just about politics—it’s about integrity,” she said. “New Yorkers are tired of politicians who say one thing on the campaign trail and profit from the opposite behind closed doors. The people of NY-12 deserve representation that is honest, accountable, and aligned with their values—not leaders who talk out of both sides of their mouth.”

Dunn, a civil rights attorney and survivor advocate, has built her campaign on transparency, accountability, and standing up to powerful institutions on behalf of marginalized communities.

“For voters looking for a candidate who is truly independent and committed to serving the public—not special interests—I am that candidate,” Dunn added.
