Last week, New Jersey Transit announced it would lower round trip prices from $150 to $105. The price has now been discounted to $98.

Special NJ Transit tickets for matches went on sale Wednesday.

Governor Kathy Hochul and the FIFA World Cup 2026 NYNJ host committee announced on Wednesday that shuttle bus ticket prices would be reduced from $80 to $20 for a round-trip fare.

“Hosting the World Cup is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for New Yorkers, and we are making this world-class event as affordable and accessible as possible,” the governor said in a statement.

"Delivering cheaper shuttle bus service is a no-brainer: making it easier to get to matches and saving fans money, especially for New Yorkers who will benefit from exclusive tickets at this new, lower price. This is your World Cup, and from Buffalo to Brooklyn, New Yorkers should be able to enjoy every moment of it.”

Those who previously purchased shuttle bus tickets will receive a $60 refund, officials said.

An average round trip ticket from Penn Station to MetLife Stadium is $12.90.

During World Cup games, Penn Station will only be open to commuters with match day tickets beginning four hours before the start of games.
