NEW YORK CITY — Queens institution Utopia Bagels has opened its fourth location in New York City.
The new location at 875 3rd Ave. in Midtown spans 2,700-square-feet with ample seating for guests.
A bold, red “Utopia Bagels” neon sign is displayed above the menu board and order counter. Guests can see where bagels are split, filled, toasted, wrapped or made into dozens of varieties of sandwiches.
Steps away, Utopia’s signature vintage carousel oven and kettle are on full display through a glass window, giving customers a first-hand look as more than 1,000 bagels per hour are baked off throughout the day.
The new location will be overseen by co-owners Jesse Spellman, his father Scott Spellman and Angelo and Jimmy Tsoulos.
Guests can customize and build their own bagels or bagel sandwiches along with a number of signature combinations. Cream cheese flavors range from classic plain and scallion to cinnamon apple, walnut raisin, Oreo, birthday cake, olive, nova, among others.
Signature breakfast items include the classic Bacon egg and cheese, The Freak with bacon, egg, cheddar, hash brown, jalapeño, and hot sauce, and The L.E.S with pastrami, fried egg and Swiss.
Nova favorites like The Worth It with fresh nova, plain cream cheese, red onions, tomatoes and capers, have earned a loyal following, while hearty breakfast platters like the Meat Lovers and Hungry Man round out the menu.
Beyond breakfast, lunch at Utopia features a lineup of signature sandwiches. Options range from the Buffalo Bill – stacked with buffalo chicken, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato and chipotle mayo – to the Cowboy, featuring chicken cutlet, bacon, cheese and BBQ sauce, and the Citi Fielder, made with cracked pepper turkey, avocado and muenster.
Hearty classics include the Cubano (roast pork, ham, Swiss, pickles & chipotle mayo), Philly Steak (steak, provolone, pepper & onion), and New Yorker (pastrami, swiss, coleslaw & mustard). Open-face sandwiches and soups are also available, along with a selection of coffee, teas, matcha, and hot chocolate.
Utopia Bagels in Midtown is now open seven days a week from 6 a.m to 4 p.m.
In addition to its new Midtown East location, it has stores in Whitestone, Long Island City and Manhattan’s Murray Hill neighborhood.
