Trump Border Czar Vows To Send More ICE Agents Than 'You've Ever Seen' To NYC

Tom Homan made the comments during an interview with FOX News on Monday.

NEW YORK CITY — The Trump administration plans to send more Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to New York City in response to Gov. Kathy Hochul signing a bill late last month that bars ICE agents from wearing masks and keeps them out of sensitive locations.

President Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, disclosed the administration's plan in an interview with FOX News on Monday.

“You’re going to see more ICE than you’ve ever seen in New York City, and it’s coming,” Homan said. “I just reviewed an operational plan. I’m not going to tell you exactly when it’s going to happen, but it’s coming.”

Homan also said that he is fulfilling a promise he made to Hochul, that if the legislation passed he would send more ICE agents to the city.

The legislation signed in late May bars agents from churches and schools unless they have a warrant.

The legislation also bars local governments from deputizing local police as ICE agents and as well as being able to use local jails to hold detained migrants.

Homan has previously said he will “flood the zone" in the city.

The border czar argued that the legislation will affect how agents operate and make it harder for them to make arrests.

“If we can work with the sheriffs and arrest a bad guy in the safety and security of the jail, that means less teams into the neighborhoods, which causes a lot of panic, a lot of problems, right?" he added.
