NEW YORK, NY— New Yorkers can enter a lottery for free tickets to watch Olympic and Paralympic athletes compete at the 2026 USA Track & Field Outdoor and Para National Championships on Randall’s Island.
The City will give away 500 free tickets to the four-day event, which runs July 23 through July 26 at Icahn Stadium.
The championships mark the first time New York City has hosted the USATF Outdoor Championships since 1991 and the first time the City will host the USATF Para National Championships.
New Yorkers can enter the free ticket lottery through the City’s website until 11 p.m.
Winners will receive up to two tickets for either Thursday or Friday’s competitions.
The event will feature some of the country’s top track and field athletes, including Noah Lyles, Sha'Carri Richardson, Grant Fisher and Tara Davis-Woodhall.
Winners will be notified Wednesday and can claim two tickets each.
The City is also offering discounted tickets.
Residents can use the code “MAYOR10” at checkout for a 10 percent discount.
The event brings national-level competition back to New York City decades after the city last hosted the USATF Outdoor Championships.
The championships will combine two major competitions: the USATF Outdoor Championships and the USATF Para National Championships, bringing together Olympic athletes, Paralympians and emerging Team USA competitors.
“One hundred and fifty years ago, a group of sprinters, jumpers and throwers gathered in New York for the first national track and field championship,” Mayor Zohran Mamdani said. “This week, we will run it back – and gather even more New Yorkers in the stands.”
The championships will take place at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island, a city-owned athletic facility maintained by the Randall’s Island Park Alliance.
The announcement came through a partnership with USA Track & Field New York, Central Park Track Club and New York Road Runners.
