A New Yorker's Guide To The 2026 U.S. Open

The U.S. Open will be from Aug. 23 to Sept. 13.

NEW YORK CITY — The U.S. Open returns to Queens this month, bringing with it intense matches, droves of fans in tennis whites, and, of course, the proliferation of Honey Duece cocktails at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Now in its 145th year, this year's Open will host tennis stars like Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic for a month of matches from Aug. 23 to Sept. 13.

Tickets can cost hundreds of dollars, but the U.S. Open will have a free "fan week" at the beginning of the tournament — a favorite summer tradition in the city.

Whether you're a seasoned fan or just jumping on the bandwagon now, here is everything you need to know about tennis's most exciting month in New York City.

When and where is the U.S. Open?

The U.S. Open runs from Aug. 23 to Sept. 13 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens.

What is the U.S. Open's schedule?

The U.S. Open will begin with qualifying matches that are free to watch as part of Fan Week.

Once the qualifying rounds wrap up on Aug. 27, the Open will begin on Aug. 30, first with singles, then doubles, and wheelchair matches.

The finals will begin Sept. 8 and continue through the end of the tournament. The women's singles final will be on Sept. 12, and the men's will be on Sept. 13.

What Is Fan Week?

Fan Week is a free week during the qualifying matches, from Aug. 23 to Aug. 27.

It's free to attend, but fans need to grab free passes here. Some experiences during the week will be paid experiences, like Roger Federer's exhibition on Aug. 25.
