Participants will gain a deep understanding of legendary garden designer Piet Oudolf's naturalistic approach to plant selection, how the park's over 500 species of plants contribute to the thriving ecosystems on the High Line and New York City, and much more.

Docent Bio

Barbara Rohdie is a native New Yorker who lived in the High Line neighborhood before its metamorphosis. She tells stories of the changes she experienced firsthand. As a former college professor, Barbara raised two children with her husband and created a major garden at her weekend home in the Hudson Valley. The garden is featured in many books and magazines. She has been a Docent for 15 years and has maintained her passion for the wonder that is the High Line.
