Carnegie Deli Returns To Seventh Avenue: See Photos

NEW YORK CITY — Carnegie Deli, the iconic New York delicatessen, is returning to Seventh Avenue, reopening just blocks from its original location in the former Stage Deli space.

First opened in 1937, Carnegie Deli became known for its oversized pastrami and corned beef sandwiches, cheesecake and Wall of Fame honoring notable figures.

The new location will continue the deli's tradition of naming sandwiches after Broadway stars, New York icons and cultural figures, including the longtime favorite "The Broadway Danny Rose."

The Carnegie Deli brand is now owned by third-generation owner and CEO Sarri Harper, the granddaughter of former owner Milton Parker.

Designed by Garrett Singer Architecture + Design, the new space will seek to restore the look and spirit of the original deli, including its signature Wall of Fame.
