NEW YORK CITY — An off-duty NYPD detective was stabbed multiples during an attempted robbery in the Bronx on Friday.
The incident happened near 3174 Rochambeau Ave. in just before 2 p.m.
The injured officer was taken to Jacobi Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
"He is thankfully in stable condition, and I am hoping for his quick and complete recovery," Mayor Zohran Mamdani said in a statement.
"I am confident that the NYPD will identify and apprehend the suspects and that the people responsible will be held to account."
Additional details have not been released. No arrests have been made.
