NEW YORK CITY — The NYPD have identified two suspects who are accused of stabbing an off-duty detective in the Bronx last week.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch on Tuesday identified 25-year-old D'Angelo Caraballo and 24-year-old Sneider Mejia as the two suspects.
The two men allegedly attacked and robbed Detective Jose Mercedes near 3174 Rochambeau Ave. before 2 p.m.
According to police, the two suspects rode up on a moped and stabbed Mercedes as he walked to his parked car.
The injured officer was taken to Jacobi Hospital for treatment and was released on Monday.
No arrests have been made. An investigation remains ongoing.
