Brooklyn Children’s Museum Hosts Summer Lineup of Soccer, Art, Food, and Cultural Celebrations
Families can enjoy World Cup-inspired Field Days, kid-friendly watch parties, a Rich Tu poster-making workshop, and more.

Summer is here, and Brooklyn Children’s Museum (BCM) is welcoming families with a season of hands-on programs, outdoor play, cultural celebrations, and creative experiences for children of all ages.
This summer’s highlights include World Cup-inspired soccer activities, kid-friendly watch parties, a poster-making workshop with artist Rich Tu, the opening of BCM’s original pop-up exhibit Summer Scramble, the Children’s Food Festival, and Celebrate the Caribbean.

- Celebrate the World Cup at BCM with Field Day (June 18 – July 16)
BCM’s Field Day returns during Community Access Thursdays, when the Museum is free from 2–5 pm. Families can enjoy World Cup-inspired outdoor play in Brower Park, including soccer activities, games, music, and family-friendly movement.
- World Cup Watch Parties (July 10, 15, 19)
BCM will host kid-friendly World Cup watch parties in its auditorium, with make-along activities for children and families.
- Rich Tu Poster Workshop (July 11)
Rich Tu, designer of the official FIFA World Cup 26™ NYNJ poster, will lead a poster-making workshop for children.
- Summer Scramble (July 11 – August 30)
BCM’s original pop-up exhibit Summer Scramble invites children to step inside a larger-than-life breakfast plate built for full-body play. Kids can climb pancake towers, dive onto buttery pillows, slide down a milk carton, and hop into the Scrambler, a two-person fried egg ride where they can pedal and spin themselves silly.
- Children's Food Festival (July 25)
Taste, plant, and play with New York City’s food. The festival features local farmers, hands-on cooking, food science, composting, gardening, and art activities inspired by local and global culinary traditions.
- Celebrate the Caribbean (August 8)
BCM and the West Indian American Day Carnival Association invite families to feel the rhythm of Carnival culture with steel drums, stilt walkers, and costumed dancers at this island family fête.
