Alderfer Auction presents an online Fine Arts Auction featuring a diverse collection of high-value items, including jewelry, silver, watches, fine art, tall case clocks, Scotch, and autograph material.

Jewelry: Leads the sale with numerous 14k and 18k gold pieces. Highlights include a Van Cleef & Arpels emerald, ruby, and diamond brooch, along with designer pieces by John Hardy and various gemstone creations.

Silver: A major section anchored by a Dominick & Haff / Gorham sterling silver tea service. Other significant offerings include Wallace “Campania” flatware, a Georg Jensen sterling bar set, and a Georgian sterling epergne, spanning American and European makers.

Watches: Features a substantial group of Swiss and international wristwatches. Highlights are the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph and several Rolex models (including Oyster Perpetual and a 14k gold ladies’ model). Breitling is heavily represented with models like the Emergency, Chronomat, and Navitimer.

Tall Case Clocks: Includes important 18th- and early 19th-century American examples attributed to respected makers like Peter Stretch, Thomas Stretch, and David Rittenhouse, reflecting the Philadelphia tradition.

Scotch: A focused group of single malts, highlighted by the Macallan 25 Year Anniversary Malt, alongside selections from Bowmore, Strathisla, and Pride of Islay.

Fine Art: Offers works spanning landscapes and portraiture by artists such as Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, and Walter Emerson Baum.

Autograph Material: Historically significant documents featuring signatures from figures like James Monroe, Theodore and Franklin Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, and Nikola Tesla.

Alderfer Auction's Mid-Century Modern sale presents an outstanding collection of furniture, lighting, sculpture, artwork, ceramics, glass, and decorative objects from American, Scandinavian, and European designers.

Furniture forms one of the largest sections of the sale. Designers represented include Charles & Ray Eames with a Herman Miller LCW chair, Hans Olsen with the Frem Røjle “Roundette” dining set, and Niels Koefoed with “Lis” teak dining chairs. American Mid-Century furniture appears with the Broyhill “Brasilia” breakfront and Brasilia serving cart, along with wardrobes, dressers, dining tables, and seating in walnut, teak, and mixed modern materials. Additional entries include an Edward Wormley for Dunbar dining table, Danish lounge chairs, tile-top coffee tables, rattan seating, and a wide range of American and Scandinavian modern case goods.

The Sculpture and Art category includes a Harry Bertoia Sonambient sound sculpture, an expressive copper-and-brass kinetic work. Modern figurative sculpture appears with Reg Butler, along with the bronze “Astra” by Erte (Romain de Tirtoff). Studio pottery includes the well-known McCarty’s Pottery hippo sculpture, along with additional hand-thrown and decorative ceramic works. Fine art selections include modern prints and works by Andy Warhol and Alex Katz, adding notable postwar American artists to the auction.

Lighting and Design Objects include the Shiro Kurimata for Yamagiwa “K-Series” lamp, as well as a range of Mid-Century metalwork and table lighting. Mechanical design is represented with the Jaeger-LeCoultre rhodium-plated Atmos clock, an iconic engineering-based object of the period.
