A Regional Indian Crustacean Feast Featuring the James Beard Award–Winning Team behind Semma, Dhamaka, Adda, and Naks  

Celebrate peak crab season with a crustacean-centric dinner inspired by regional Indian dishes from Unapologetic Foods’ dynamic New York City restaurants. Unapologetic Foods founders Roni Mazumdar and chef/partner Chintan Pandya, whose work at Dhamaka earned him the 2022 James Beard Award for Best Chef: New York State, will be joined by Semma’s Vijay Kumar, the 2025 James Beard Award winner® for Best Chef: New York State. 

Follow the crab across their menus, and you’ll find dishes shaped by coastlines, spice routes, and regional traditions. Semma’s Kanyakumari Nandu Masala reflects the coastal cooking of southern India; Adda’s Curry Leaf Crab boasts a fragrant spiced profile; Dhamaka’s Butter Pepper Garlic Crab offers bold, warming heat; and the Naks team draws on Filipino flavors with Ginataang Alimango, Dungeness crab gently simmered in an aromatic coconut sauce.  

This dinner brings the Unapologetic Foods chefs together in one kitchen for an unforgettable menu inspired by each region’s vibrant flavors and the season’s prized ingredient: crab.
