Collab Dinner: Eid al-Fitr: A Spring Celebration of Somali Cuisine

Featuring Cookbook Author and Chef, Ifrah F. Ahmed, and Top Chef Season 21 Winner and Chef/Owner of Only Goods, Danny Garcia

Chef Ifrah F. Ahmed, author of the newly-released Soomaaliya: Food, Memory, and Migration, joins forces with Only Goods’ chef/owner Danny Garcia, a James Beard Award semifinalist® for Emerging Chef and Top Chef season 21 winner, to celebrate the abundance of Eid al-Fitr, the Islamic holiday that marks the end of Ramadan. 

Weaving together their heritage shaped by distinct personal histories—from Somalia to New York City—the dinner celebrates a time of renewal, generosity, and togetherness. The unique menu will bring the warm hospitality and communal nature of these gatherings along with the bold flavors and beauty that sits at the heart of the Eid table. 

Copies of Soomaaliya: Food, Memory, and Migration will be available for purchase with tickets or at the event, courtesy of our friends at BEM Books & More.   

This one-night-only dinner will feature a cocktail reception with passed hors d'oeuvre upon arrival, an expertly crafted multi-course menu with thoughtfully curated wine or beverage pairings, and a Q&A with the featured chefs.
