Storytime with the Symphony 2026

Storytime with the Symphony 2026

Storytime with the Symphony is a bilingual (English–Spanish) family concert that brings children’s books to life through live music and storytelling. Designed for young audiences and their caregivers, this performance features live chamber music, interactive narration, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

This concert highlights the Strings instrument family and features At Night by Margaret Peot, creating thoughtful connections between music, literature, and themes familiar to children growing up in Washington Heights.

The program is presented by Diego Chiri, a Latinx artist based in Washington Heights, and is recommended for children ages 1–10 and their caregivers.

This concert is part of Storytime with the Symphony, a three-concert family series presented by the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra in partnership with Word Up Community Bookshop.

This concert series is generously supported by The Fountain Bookshop, New World Symphony, and the Medical Center Neighborhood Fund.
